∘ Giorgi Khorbaladze ∘

Abstract

The development of information technologies, while offering numerous opportunities, has also introduced significant risks, particularly those affecting the right to privacy. Data processing in the online environment is becoming increasingly widespread. Of particular importance is the processing of personal data through disclosure on various social networks and digital platforms. Such processing is not considered unlawful provided that it complies with the requirements of personal data protection legislation. The purpose of this paper is to examine, through practical examples, the specific characteristics of data processing by means of disclosure on social networks and to identify the conditions and criteria under which such processing may be deemed lawful.
